Job Summary:
The Special Education Assistant works closely with the Special Education Teacher to support the educational and behavioral needs of students with special needs. The Assistant provides assistance in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensuring a supportive learning environment for students. Key Responsibilities:

4. Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, proactively addressing behavioral issues and providing behavior management support to students.
5. Implement behavior intervention plans and strategies, as directed by the Special Education Teacher.
6. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect.
7. Support students during transitions between classes, activities, and transportation, ensuring their safety and comfort.
8. Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials, equipment, and resources.
9. Document student progress, behavior, and incidents accurately and promptly, as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in special education or related field is preferred.
2. Previous experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.

4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to maintain a calm and supportive demeanor in challenging situations.
